The FBI estimates that every 6.2 minutes, someone in the United States is raped. A college basketball game lasts about two hours; in that amount of time nearly twenty people are raped.

It is a problem.

On Saturday, March 7, 2015, Erin attended a Creighton Basketball game, where she saw this appalling shirt. The shirt advertises the Blue Jay Bar and Grill, known by most people on Creighton's campus as "The Jay." The message of the shirt can't be lost, even on those ignorant enough to wear it: alcohol excuses rape. Erin sent the picture to Suzzanne and Wendy, who immediately joined Erin in her outrage that the bar, a frequent venue for campus celebrations, would condone this message. The three took to Twitter, where they knew The Jay would hear them. They invited others to join in the effort to let The Jay know that the shirt is offensive; it perpetuates rape culture and makes a joke of it. The Jay's response? Blocking the Twitter accounts of those who took a stand.
